What do I need to do when a loved one passes?

The estate process can take time and may differ depending on your situation. We're here to help you through it.
Please contact us on 6362 4466 or visit the branch as soon as possible so we can take steps to protect your loved one’s accounts and guide you through what happens next.

You may also need to:
• Decide if you need legal advice to help manage the estate.
• Get in touch with any other financial institutions your loved one had accounts with.
• Notify other organisations, such as Centrelink, the ATO, Telstra, and any others they were connected with.

You can use the Australian Death Notification Service to let organisations know someone has passed away. It’s a secure way to notify multiple parties at once.

What documents will i need?

While requirements can vary, you’ll usually need:
• An original or certified copy of the death certificate
• An original or certified copy of the will
• ID documents for the Executor or Administrator, if one has been appointed

Our Member Banking Team can assist with which documents are required based on your loved ones circumstances.

We can only share account details or carry out requests once we’ve received ID documents from the authorised Estate representative.
